Blog Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in contributing to the Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri blog.
Our blog serves as a forum for sharing insights and perspectives about a broad range of mental health topics. We welcome guest contributions written with the intent to inform, enlighten and inspire readers, contributors and the broader community to:
- Learn more about the full spectrum of mental health
- Develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for those living with mental illness
- Seek appropriate avenues of treatment for themselves, if needed
- Encourage others to seek treatment and support
- Discover more resources, innovations and new approaches to mental health that are available in our community
- Share personal stories and perspectives to reduce the stigma and subsequent discrimination that is often associated with mental illness
Blog submissions should meet the following guidelines:
- Be written in easy-to-read, first-person voice
- Suggested length for submissions is 500 to 850 words
- Contain original content that has not been previously published in other media platforms
- Include a high-resolution headshot and brief author bio to be included on the blog
- If possible, include high-resolution visual graphics (photos and/or videos) relating to your piece
Note:
- Include only information you are willing to share with the broader public. Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri will share some guest blog posts through social media channels, enewsletters, and other communications platforms
- Mental Health America of Eastern Missouri reserves the right to edit, add links, and make additional alterations to all submissions prior to publication
- Not all submissions will be selected for publication
